I don't know if Sion Scott-Wilson, the author of May's MNW offering, is Among Us on this blog. The excerpt posted on the MNW website is extraordinary and--as is the purpose of these pieces--makes me want to read the whole thing. If you haven't had a look yet, hop over to the MNW site. Intriguing and much too funny to read in the office!
The last book I bought on the basis of an online extract was The Herring Seller's Apprentice, so the omens are good.

Hi, Tim
Sion has been in touch with me, and I've added him to the permissions for the blog, so we should hear from Sion soon.
"This month's publication" is only delayed...
Cheers
Matt
I read Sion's book in ARC format and it was wonderful!
I think I found a website for the book and it's utterly groovy:

Am off to buy the book now! Looks cracking.
By the way, folks, Sion is having a book launch at Goldsboro on Thursday 8th. It's a bit short notice for a Sheffield bloke like me, but some of the London based crowd might make it...
Yes, by all means read the extract. But you need not nose around the PanMac site: a direct link to the extract is posted below the cover image to the right.
Great opening. Hope to be at the launch to pick up a copy.
Looking forward to my copy as it's Book of the Month in Goldsboro Books for those of you looking a signed copy! Sion has also contributed to the Picador Blog, which you can access from the main Pan Mac site. I can't find a link at the minute because it's too early in the morning for me to manage it!
Hi all,
Many thanks everyone, for your kind words and support. It's very much appreciated. And if you're able, please do come along to Goldsboro tomorrow night (8th) for the launch. I'd love to see you there.
Best
Sion
Welcome--good to see you here at last. Have a great launch! (I won't be there, as I live in California, and it's a bit of a commute--but sell a million.)
Very best wishes for the launch, Sion. Goldsboro do a good party! Sadly can't make it as I'm too far away, but shall think of you.
Thanks for a great launch party last night, Sion! It was really good to meet you (and friends). I hope the sales on the night were good and continue to go well.
Many thanks David, Frances. And thank you so much Len, it was wonderful to see you there. Great to meet you and I hope you enjoyed the evening.
Best
Sion
