The Hoard goes off to Sunny Spain

Big congratulations to Matt Curran of these blog pages: La Factoria de Ideas have bought Spanish rights for The Hoard of Mhorrer.

Thanks for posting this, Eliza

I should explain that this was actually part of the La Factoria de Ideas deal way back in July 2009, but through the complexities of rights deals (and lack of information) I was only made aware that the deal included both books this week, so yeah I guess it is news to me, anyway!

Needless to say I am very pleased that Hoard of Mhorrer is going to be translated into Spanish (and pleased also that La Factoria de Ideas look to be interested in the whole Secret War series of books according to their press releases).  Hopefully our Spanish cousins in Europe and the Americas can make this a success - La Guerra de Secreta is out this week, I believe, so I've got my fingers crossed...

Congratulations, Matt! Very exciting and well deserved. Let's hope this wakes up American publishers and you'll be on the shelves here.

Thanks Frances, thanks Alis, thanks Anne.

Yeah, the American market is one I'll be keeping a close eye on.  As far as I know, the La Factoria de Ideas editions (or Solaris Fantasia imprint) will reach across to South and North America too.  The first print run will be a modest one to test the water, and then they'll expand it - via some crafty publicity they're already drumming up interest in the Spanish speaking quarters...
