To give all Macmillan New Writers a voice and blog/web presence if they so require it. A presence to enable them to spread their news good or bad, a platform to discuss their writing and the whole experience of being published under Macmillan New Writing...

I can't make it, I'm afraid - I'll only just be back from my hols and busy catching up at work...
Frances ... you're coming to the launch? Super. I'd love to meet up beforehand. Is there a pub handy to Will's office? I could be there by 4 o'clock. Am having lunch with Katie Fforde and another friend, and Katie might be coming to the launch as well, so let me know where to meet you.
Hope very much to come but not sure yet. I'll keep you posted!donaldtovvey
Hi Frances - I'm coming up for the launch and I'd love to meet up beforehand. Did you have any ideas about venue etc?
Just FYI - I only removed that last comment because for some reason Blogger had duplicated my response to Frances!(Looks so suspicious when it says you've deleted something, as if you've said something controversial and then regretted it...)
I won't be able to meet ahead of time but will be at Maggie's
launch. See you then.
Likewise - can't make it earlier, but see you at the launch.
I can't think of any good pubs near the Macmillan offices. (Will or Sophie to correct me, if either reads this!) But the British Library is quite close by and a good place to meet up for a coffee beforehand.
I can make it, which is great, (sorry I've been so long in sorting myself out) so where shall we meet, Alis and Maggie? Would a station be a good starting place? Waterloo? And we can walk on from there. Or (following Len's suggestion) the British Library? I'm pretty flexible. Maggie - it's your day - where would be good for you?
Maggie and Ann
I'm gutted that I can't come down this week. What with financial issues and all things-Daniel at the moment, it was looking increasingly likely that it wasn't going to happen for me. (I love the MNW launches - they're so much fun and it's great to catch up with the rest of the MNWers - so I'm feeling a bit glum about it.)
Not to worry. With a little luck - and if it's still going ahead - I believe there's the potential for a huge get-together at the end of September at Goldsboro Books; hopefully I'll see some of you then.
Maggie, I hope the launch goes well and have as much fun as it is physically possible to - the whole thing goes so quick, it's best likened to a wedding reception.
Same again to Ann - hope the Orange New Writer thing goes well. Everything's crossed that you get the award!!
Hi all
Landed this morning, and am now learning how to cope with my friend's PC keyboard which isn't like my Mac at all.
Will wants me to show up at his office early so his 'web guys' can do a video interview of me, so won't be able to meet up ahead of time.
I look forward to seeing the MNWers who're able to come to the launch, and will miss those you can't.
