No. Never mind. I thought for a moment I heard the echo of a rose petal.

Obviously everyone is too engrossed reading "Thin Blue Smoke" to hanging out here!
If only it were true. Thanks, Tim. Your support is greatly appreciated.
it was snow, Doug. Snow. We have snow here and cannot cope. But happy birthday to Thin Blue Smoke, and lots of luck!
Thank you, Frances.
The reference to the rose petal came from a Donald Marquis quote that Will gave me a few weeks ago when I confessed to him that I was feeling rather glum as publication day approached. Apparently, Marquis said "Publishing a book is like dropping a rose petal into the Grand Canyon and waiting for the echo."
Will is very wise.

I have heard that quote, Doug, and ought to have recognised it (then I wouldn't have said silly things about snow). Apologies. But I do hope you're feeling less glum now. It's an emotional roller coaster, isn't it?
