True Fame

In this month's Bulletin of the Crime Writers' Association, I came across the following crossword clue: "1 across & 5 down - second Inspector Devlin mystery from Brian McGilloway (7, 4)". Forget the knighthood. Forget the Booker Prize. You know you're famous when you become a crossword clue. (And 1 across at that.)

A household name! Nice one Brian!

This is fabulous! In India we say you have become a household name when your book is being sold at the traffic junction by street children doing odd jobs. The books are pirated and its amazing how they rattle off names such as "White Tiger, White Tiger" even as you car cruises past! They begin by quoting a price fetched by a collector's item! It is for me the ultimate paradox that is India

One across, indeed! That is so cool, Brian.

Thanks folks.
Of course, Len, you do realise you have broken the vow of omerta taken by all CWA members never to disclose publicly the contents of their magazines...

You mean I'm about to get rubbed out for revealing the answer to a crossword clue?
