Brilliant, Brian! Many congrats!

And we can vote, as well, by the look of it!

Of that list, I've read the Mark Billingham, RJ Ellory, Peter James, Ian Rankin and Tom Rob Smith - and the Ellory and Smith novels are the only ones close to Gallows Lane.

Well done, Brian. Off to vote now...

Congratulations, Brian. My vote has been cast.

Thanks Aliya, Tim, Frances and Ann. I really appreciate the support. It's lovely just to be on the same list as some of the other writers named. Almost as nice as being on the MNW list with all its writers.

Congratulations Brian. Well done! Fingers crossed ...

(Maybe, in view of the title of the post, I can also sneak in here the news that I didn't get the Last Laugh Award yesterday evening. Next year perhaps. The winner was Colin Bateman if you are interested.)

Congratulations Brian - here's hoping!

Len - commiserations... must check Colin Bateman out if he's beating Ethelred.

Thanks Len and Alis. And commiserations Len on both Bristol and the Edgar. I meant to drop you a line before now but things have been mad here - baby 4 arrived two months ago. Our first girl!
Hope Bristol went well.

Congrats on two counts - the baby and the nomination! Fingers crossed for you.

Smoke 'em, Brian!

Frances Garrood said...

You kept the baby very quiet, Brian! Many congratulations!

Like someone who's arrived late to the party, a hearty congrats from me too, Brian.

My vote has been cast and my fingers are crossed...

(and another baby too? Bloody hell, Mrs McGilloway must be praying that your literary output and family output part in the near future or else Family McGilloway will be immense!!)

Thanks Dee, David, Frances and Matt.

Sorry Frances - baby four and book four appeared three days apart. I only kept it quiet because I didn't have time to post about it. A beautiful daughter - Lucy. Funny - quiet is a word I don't associate with our home at the moment!

Matt - next year's book is not a Devlin so I'm hoping that will break the whole baby per book thing!
