Deborah, thank you for posting this, and thank you, Aliya, for your cheers. To tell you the truth, I go to the site from time to time just to marvel that the book is listed with such fine company.

Bookgroup.info has been most generous. It listed Rachel DuPree as book-of-the-month in January and kept it as a recommended book for both February and March. I owe this great fortune to Ellen Woods at Pan who submitted the book last fall. The Pan team never gives up on us.

Great good fortune maybe, Ann, but it's a wonderful book, and deserves its success. Many congratulations.

Could not agree more with Frances. I just finished reading the book, and I must say it is one of the very best to come out of the MNW stables. The kind of book that can make the publisher proud. Will (Atkins) said so when we met in Delhi; in fact, he said "I would want you to meet Ann." We had a nice discussion on artistic affinity.

Thank you all for your kind comments. The past twelve months have been incredible and unexpected. In my mind's eye, I see the manuscript coated in dust stuck in the bottom of my desk drawer.

One of the great things about NMW is the variety of novels so that it's impossible to compare one to the others. Each stands alone on its own pedestal.

Suroopa, I'd love to meet you, too. Is there a midway point between Houston and India? Brown's in London? Dang. I'm still sorry I missed the latest gathering.
