Launch

If anyone is free and in London on August 7th I would love to see you at the launch for The Birds, The Bees and Other Secrets (6.30 - 8.30pm at Goldsboro Books). I hesitate to ask as I have so far been unable to get to anyone else's launch, living as I do in deepest Wiltshire, but it would be great to see anyone who might be able to make it.

Hi, Frances

Unfortunately I can't make it down to London on that Thursday - it's my wedding anniversary the day before and we are elswhere. I hope it goes really well - Goldsboro is a great venue and David is an absolute star.

By the way, I'll be e-mailing a Q&A over to you in the next couple of days for the publication-day blog entry.

Best wishes

Matt

Wish I could, but I'm even futher from London than you are!

Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to your pub date so I can read the book. If it's anywhere near as good as Ernest, it will be a great read.

I'm afraid I won't be able to make it, Frances.

I can report, though, that I was in Goldsboro signing stock last week and there was a prominent launch poster in the window--and Dave was very much looking forward to the event.

I hope it goes well and I'm sorry not to be there.

Are you doing anything in Wilts. ,Frances? I can't get to London.

Thanks, Eliza. I'm doing a signing in Devizes on Sept.7th, but can't really expect anyone to make it as far as this.

How I wish I could be at Goldsboro to cheer you on. Unfortunately, I'm in hot, sticky Houston so I wouldn't be able to make it. However, I'll be with you in spirit and will be cheering you on.

Do let us know how it all goes.

Hi Frances

Good luck with the launch. I'm 3000 miles away in the Connecticut, so won't be able to attend. But I'll certainly be buying your book on Amazon (US) since I so thoroughly enjoyed DEAD ERNEST.

At some point, soon, when I actually figure out how to create a blog entry here, I'll introduce myself properly as a new MNW author.

Hi Frances

I'm afraid I'm another one having to apologise, (though I accept that the Irish Sea isn't quite as impressive an excuse as the Atlantic, David, Ann and Mags.) Have a great evening and every success with The Birds, the Bees & Other Secrets.
Best wishes
Brian

Thanks, everyone - it was worth a try!

Mags, I've got bad news. Will recently told me that Amazon.com typically doesn't carry UK published books even though it lists the books. It gladly takes orders but instead of 'fessing up, Amazon.com keeps pushing back the shipping date. How irritating is that? So the better thing to do is order with Amazon.co.uk.

Hi Frances,

Just to say that it was good to meet you at the launch last night. Many thanks for inviting me. Unfortunately I had to leave while things were still in full swing, but I hope that the second half of the evening went as well as the first half clearly did.

As we said, it would be great if a group of us could get together later this year.

Congratulations again on your new book. Hope to see you soon.

best wishes

Len
