He shoots, he scores...

Len Tyler has just secured his place in the premier league of authors by winning the Last Laugh award at Crimefest for The Herring in the Library. Heartfelt congratulations, Len! You deserve it.

Let's forget about the four that I put over the crossbar earlier in the match. ("I was aiming for the top corner, Gary, but my left foot skidded on a patch of loose semi-colons.")

I couldn't quite believe it when they read my name out. I still can't quite believe it.

The fact you've had four other targets just shows the quality of the writing. Some of us dream of just getting a chance to kick the ball than burying it in the back of the net! Congrats on getting this - it's deserved!
