Where is everybody?

Everything's gone very quiet. Is everyone on holiday? Or sitting glued to their WIPs? One or two of us (we know who we are) keep going (Aliya manages it even though she's in the middle of moving house - quite a feat), but others seem to have vanished.

Anyway, just to liven things up a bit, I thought I'd share a couple of useful facts:
1. One in every 45 novels sold is by Dan Brown
2. The voice that tells you to "mind the gap!" on the underground belongs to the actor who plays David Archer in The Archers.

Oh - and are we still on for October?

I've been wondering the same thing. Is everyone on holiday together?

I wasn't paying attention before, since I assumed I'd be 5000 miles away, but turns out I'll be in the UK in October. What is happening?

Also, 1 out of every 45 passengers on the underground is a Dan Brown impersonator.

If they are, Aliya, why didn't they invite us? And Ryan, we were/are supposed to be having a get-together in October, tho' I'm not sure whether everyone's still interested...? If it happens, it would be great to see you there. And Nevets, I'm afraid you're fantasising. Apart from anything else, does anyone really know what Dan Brown looks like? It's possible he doesn't exist at all, and the books are written by a room full of monkeys with typewriters.

Hi Frances

A mixture of summer hols, day-job-related hysteria, family stuff and WIP for me.  Not really ignoring the blog (I've dipped in from time to time) but there's no real news from my end, and not enough time to compose blog entries myself at the moment.  Plus I'm having some time off the writing - much needed time to be honest.  I haven't written any fiction for 3 weeks now, and by the end of this week it will be 4.  Needed a break from it, but that's cool, coz I've got a cracking new project to start on in September which is pretty much green-lit by my agent.
Oh, and I've got 2 weeks of work left to be done on The Black Hours too, so I guess I'm going to fall a bit silent again... Sorry!

Just an idea though, as so many of us are on Twitter (though when I say "so many," I mean there's about 7 of us!) who use it to pass on quick news or sign-posts to new blog entries, how about we add a Twitter feed to the toolbar on the right?  I reckon I can set it up so that it reports on all tweeting MNWers (including ex-MNWers such as Roger who regularly tweets too) and even Pan Mac's tweets.  What do you reckon?

I'm still on for October. I don't think we've finalised a date, so maybe we can fix it for when Ryan's over.

I'm tinkering with WIP at the moment but not fully involved, for some reason.

Glued to the wip in my case (and have just got back from holiday too)
thanks for facts, Frances - love the Archers and usually pride myself on spotting who's doing voiceovers but didn't spot his!
Definitely on for October. First weekend is out currently, and probably the half-term week (last week of the month) other than that, I'll be there!

I am trying to finish my WIP before I go to visit family in Scotland on Saturday. Meanwhile the kids and pup rampage around me.

The plan is to put it on ice for a month and then come back refreshed to tidy it up in Sept. and still have lots of time to revise for my deadline of the end of Oct.

That's the plan, anyway. Ha!

Oh yeah, I can't do the beginning of Oct I don't think. Um. That's not very helpful, is it?

So there's the answer. Everyone is welded to their WIPs. But mid-October sounds a possibility for the get-together...? Especially if it coincides with Ryan's visit.

There's a very vague chance that I might be in the neighborhood come October also.

Frightening. Must be something astrological coming into alignment.

Grab that very vague chance and come, David! It would be great to see you.
