And Another Award Nomination for MNW

I heard this evening that The Herring Seller's Apprentice has been nominated for a second award in the US - the Barry Awards - again in the Best Paperback Original category (since that's how it was published in the US). The winner will be announced at Bouchercon this autumn.

Superb news, Len. Got everything crossed for this one!

(And you know, wishing for one of the MNWers to win an award is starting to feel like rooting for England in the World Cup, in other words it's a travesty that none of the nominees in our little imprint haven't won anything yet! But hey, England did win eventually, so I'm keeping the faith!)

Blimey, Len, leave some prizes for the other children!

Seriously--that's fantastic news and I'm so pleased. Fingers crossed.

Thanks everyone! Matt - Hopefully there's a better chance of one of us picking up a prize this year than England winning the World Cup. Or do you think we'll lose to HarperCollins on penalties in the quarter finals?

Len! This is great news. You're having an incredible year. Does this call for another trip to the States? And by the way, I was at Murder by the Book, a bookshop in Houston, and it was completely out of your books. "More on the way," the manager told me. That sums up your life right now.

As long as there are no German authors contesting the prize, I think you'll be fine, Len - but having said that I think you have bit more gumption than many of our over paid Premier League footballers when it comes to penalties so I wouldn't worry against the likes of HC or Random House...

As long as you don't embarrassingly fumble the trophy a la Green when you get it, Len...

Hi Len
I've only just realised who you are. I see your books everywhere. Well done on your nomination! All the best
Terri

Ann, Terri - many thanks for the update on bookshops in Texas and South Wales! Terri, good luck again for the awards ceremony on 30 June (not long now).

Matt, Tim - sadly, I think we're about to go out of the World Cup without any need for penalties or playing Germany ...
