Hey, fellow Amerikanski Macmillanites. As I explain over on my blog, Barnes and Noble, without any fanfare whatsoever, has started putting the paperback version of Shock and Awe on the shelves of many of its stores. (Face out, what's more. There's glory for you.)
Let's hope it's a trend, right?

Indeed. And congrats. It must have been pretty cool to see your book on the shelves at a B&N close to home.
Thanks. Thought I'd never see the day...
I'm thinkin' I won't.
This is great to hear, David!
Finally, B and N realise a good thing when they see it. Hope it sells in shed-loads, David, it deserves to.
Very well done, David (more fulsome congrats on your blog)! And now could you please put in a word for the rest of us who haven't yet made it in the US?
Congratulations. That's brilliant news.
David, that's a huge accomplishment. Let's hope this opens the door for all MNW authors.
Thanks, all.
Aside to RDJ: It's up in your neck of the woods, too. I ran across it at Bookstar in Studio City yesterday, and I guess it's also at B&N near Farmer's Market. Hooywood producers take note.
Aside to Doug: Hey, I see no reason why not. In any case, don't give up hope soon--Shock and Awe appeared in shops over here almost exactly two years after the initial hardback release. And I had no warning it was going to happen. What a weird industry.
Aside to Len: Of course, you and Brian got here first, so you two were the trailblazers...
Aside to Ann: I'm guessing that Rachel DuPree is bound to show up here someday. I mean, it was an OP nominee.
Thank you, David. Your gracious and encouraging words are always refreshing and welcome.
Question for all: Thin Blue Smoke will be released as a mass-market paperback in June. In the UK, what size/format is a "mass-market" paperback?
Doug, don't lose heart. The process is painfully slow.
Mass market is good. The paperback version of Rachel DuPree is slightly smaller than the hardback. The cover is much the same other than the colors are brighter. It sells for 7.99 pounds.
